My Picks from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

My Picks from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

It's the most wonderful time of the year.... no, not the holidays. It's the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! I'm not a fashion blogger, but I do love a good bargain. Today is the first day of the sale and I got at least half a dozen texts from friends asking for my favorites from the sale, so I decided to make it easy and post it all here for all to enjoy!

My overall impression:

The sale was good this year — SO good!  There was a ton of denim and fall shoes on major discounts. Lots of options from my favorite kid's shoe brand, and some pretty special beauty exclusives. All that said, I was disappointed with prices on the coats for kids — definitely not the same deep discounts I've seen the past few years. And shopping in my local store was INSANITY today. The staff was all super kind and the store was still very put together, but I was told earlier in the day there was a two hour wait to just try shoes on! Holy smokes! It was not a relaxing experience with three kids in tow. I tried on a few pieces I had been eyeing for sizing, but then we cruised home to shop online in comfort.

My picks for moms:

There were so many great options to go about your mom day without feeling frumpy. Here's what went in my shopping bag at first pass today.

My denim picks for moms:

There was So much great denim on sale I had to look at these separately. My go-to mom jeans are KUT from the Kloth. They are affordable, stretchy, and have a rise that isn't too low (or too high!)  I linked lots of options below and made notes in the captions.

My beauty picks for moms:

MAC on sale and that Donna Karan deodorant is seriously THE BEST!!

My jewelry picks for moms:

My mom go-to's: Anything Kendra Scott and bracelets that stack. Lucky for me, both were on sale!

My picks for kids:

Of course there were tons of adorable clothing options for kids. But my kids destroy clothing so I buy it for way less than what I would pay at Nordstrom. During the sale, I always focus on coats, shoes, and baby gifts for others.

My picks for home and gifts:

I was THRILLED to see a Pendleton blanket make the cut. Tom gifted me one for our wool anniversary and I haven't been able to pull the trigger. I feel less bad that this one is so neutral and can hang out on our couch year-round.

My picks for friends:

It must be a testament to my love of shopping that I received so many texts from friends asking for my personalized picks for them. I decided it would be fun to share them here with a little write-up of each friend. Shop their looks!

Caroline:

She's single and living downtown, working in a typical office. She wanted looks that can transfer from office to meeting friends at the bar for the game and she noticed her favorite underwear is on sale. (I haven't personally tried this brand, but she swears by them!

NICKY:

She's a mom of four and works part-time at a non-profit that deals with trauma victims. She wanted styles that made her not feel like such a mom, but still allowed her to go from school drop-off to office to cross-fit and to lacrosse practice while still being comfortable. A fan of skorts (I'm working on it), she has amazing strong legs that are worth showing off!

Kimberlee:

She's a mom of two and going through some major life changes. She needed looks that were easy to pull together, comfortable for everyday momming, and budget-friendly.

LISA:

She's a mom of three boys and truly didn't need my help shopping but she's a kind friend. She had specific requests: faux leather pants, moto jacket, black pointed flats, and lace camis.

Is there something you've been looking for? An updated work wardrobe? New nursing-friendly options? An outfit for an event? Please email or text me and I'd love to help you shop. My husband is so grateful to have me spend someone else's money and I truly love to shop and would love to help you out — just send me a message!

XO,
Beth
