My Favorite Teacher Gift for the Holidays

My Favorite Teacher Gift for the Holidays

Wine Bottle Teacher Gift

My time as a teacher was very brief, but not brief enough for me to appreciate what a tough job teaching is! When I had kids of my own, I vowed to never be the mom gifting coffee cups. It’s difficult — you want to give something meaningful, but budget constraints stop you from gifting your childrens’ teachers the fancy new iPad that they truly deserve. I love this idea because most everyone will love it, use it, smile because of it, and it’s versatile for any budget!

Have you ever seen this hilarious Some-eCard about teacher gifts? I’ll pop it in here in case you haven’t. I saw this a few years ago and it really made me think twice about the teacher gifts I was planning.

I decided to purchase a decent bottle of wine (Clos Du Bois Cabernet Sauvignon) because I only had one child in preschool and two teachers to buy for. This year I have two kiddos in school (and my first grader has several teachers when you include PE, Music, Technology, and Librarian) so I’ll be going for a more budget-friendly option. One of the things I love so much about this gift is how versatile it is for many budgets.

I print my wine labels at Evermine, who happens to be a local Portland company. I’ve ordered these several times now and when I first started ordering, you could order one label design that would be printed in sets of six. I would print a photo of all my kiddos even though they had different teachers to save money, This year, I noticed they had an option for six different label designs on one print order — and it is only an extra buck! Score! I just placed my order and I’ll be sure to update this post with photos of this year’s design.

I grabbed the cute hat and scarf bottle toppers at an end of season sale at an online shop years ago — I must have bought two dozen! But I’ve spotted similar ones at World Market and on Amazon. To keep costs low, you can also just tie with some pretty ribbon.

Hope this helps with your teacher gifts!

XO,
Beth
